By franzy – Oct 3, 2009 I accidentally found this establishment and was surprised to find a fully operational Caribbean restaurant in New City of all places. The owner is a great guy and I’ve become a regular in recent months. Although the menu is standard Jamaican fare (ie. a variety of curry and jerk dishes), the meals abound in flavor that is neither overstated or trashy. Unlike every other West Indian restaurant in the county, entrees such as Ox Tail that require slow and thoughtful preparation, are expertly cooked, leaving the meat tender and sumptuous not hard, over-spiced and chewy. Don’t forget to try the patties that are hands-down the best in all of Rockland.
