By Keryn – Jul 29, 2009 I stumbled across this place by accident on my way to Hilltop deli… Who would have thought that the best Jamaican food in town would be in New City!!?? Their food is fantastic. Arguably the best Ox tail I have ever had… very tender and the sauce is fantastic. I loved the cabbage and the plantains, and the guy working the counter was also very nice. I can’t handle spicy, but my boyfriend douced his in hot sauce which he claimed was not regualar hot sauce, and was also especially impressive. I will be going here untill I convince them to open up in Nyack!!‎

The owner is a great guy and I’ve become a regular in recent months. Although the menu is standard Jamaican fare (ie. a variety of curry and jerk dishes), the meals abound in flavor that is neither overstated or trashy. Unlike every other West Indian restaurant in the county, entrees such as Ox Tail that require slow and thoughtful preparation, are expertly cooked, leaving the meat tender and sumptuous not hard, over-spiced and chewy. Don’t forget to try the patties that are hands-down the best in all of Rockland.‎

The BEST Caribbean Food in NY

By far and ive been EVERYWHERE! I love this place. I think I order Jerk Chicken and Oxtail with rice and peas at least once a week. They have only been open for a bit but my family askes me to pick up dishes from here when they come to visit. I actually get a tray of Oxtail on most family occasions. I recommend you use their 10% catering discount if you do that too.

I love this place! The food is fantastic! So glad they finally opened a Jerk spot in Rockland NY
